DIY Coasters

I’ve been on the hunt for coasters and couldn’t believe how boring the options are. I love using polymer clay as it’s so easy and fun to play with so I jumped on the chance to DIY them!

Overview

DIY Polymer Clay Coasters

Materials

Polymer clay

Varnish/clear gloss coat (I used Sculpey Gloss Glaze)

Paint brush

How To

Step 1

Roll out the clay and form shapes. I opted for squiggles, flowers and a couple of bows.

Step 2

Transfer to baking sheet. I baked mine at 275 degrees for 20-25 minutes. The rule is typically 15 minutes per 1/4 inch, but check your clay to see if it has other instructions. Air on the side of over-baking rather than under, as not being fully baked will cause it to crack.

Step 3

Let cool and paint with varnish. I used Sculpey Gloss Glaze. You can also paint them prior to applying the glaze if you want other colors!
