Mirana of Marmoreal, the White Queen
My love of Alice in Wonderland started when I took a course in fairy tales in college. It was an English class technically called Genres, in which the genre switched each semester. I got so lucky as to find it when it was fairy tales. The original fairy tales were not for the weak - many aimed to teach a tough lesson or moral to children and the stories came to gruesome ends. Alice in Wonderland had such a different tone. I loved its whimsy magical world.
The costume for Mirana was quite simple. I thrifted a corset and embelished it to look more like hers with fabric, trim and string. I actually used the underside of a fabric that I thought mimicked the design better. I used leftover trim to embelish some arm bands I had and made a pearl necklace.
