Gold Foil Mobile

In a previous DIY, I made gold foil decorations for an Easter tablescape. With Easter over, I’m revamping them into a celestial mobile!

Overview

Materials

Gold foil (I used one sheet)

Dremel Stylo +

Scissors

Hole cutter (optional - can use Stylo but a little quicker if you have one!)

Thread/Ribbon

Clear fishing wire

Gold wire

Command strip (ceiling hook)

How To

Step 1

For a full tutorial on creating the gold emblems, please see this post, where we embossed and cut out the shapes.

Step 2

Attach the foil pieces together with thread to create four strands.

Step 3

Create the base with gold wire. I used two pieces to hang four strands of foil emblems from.

If your wire is bent, my favorite trick (ever??) to straighten wire is to place one end in a drill where the bit would go (tighten all the way) and hold the other end with pliers. When you start “drilling”, it will spin and straighten like magic! It also strenghtens the wire.

Step 4

Attach the two bases together. Since this will be heavier, I used a clear fishing wire rather than thread. Then attach the strands of foil pieces to the bases.

Step 5

Hang to the ceiling with a command strip.

Voila!
