Abstract Sculptural Art Using Cardboard

This DIY was a two-for-one for me.

I am loving textured and sculptural art lately. I also have a large pile of cardboard boxes that I knew I could do something with. I decided to use it to make a fun abstact art piece!

Step 1

Cut out your cardboard pieces. I used my absolute favorite Dremel electric scissors, but that’s obviously not necessary, it just makes cutting through thick things super fast and smooth.

Step 2

Paint your backdrop onto the canvas if needed.

Step 3

Paint your cardboard pieces. After a coat of paint, it still looked a little bit too much like cardboard to me so I mixed baking soda into the paint to make it textured and liked that look a lot more.

Step 3

Hot glue onto your canvas.
