Over the Collar Dog Bandana

I simply love matching with Poppy so I started making us bandanas for the summer. Hers is made to slide over the collar, which I love as tie-ing one on her is bound to fall off.

How To

Step 1

Cut a fabric square.

Sizing:
17 inch neck - 12 x 12 inches (Haley head size)

15 inch neck - 8 x 8 inches

11 inch neck - 7 x 7 inches (Poppy size)

Step 2

Fold in half and iron to create crease.

Step 3

To make the collar slip, open the bandana so the ugly fabric side is up, fold the corners in and iron down.

Make sure the folds are big enough that it leaves a space slightly wider than than the collar so it can slide through.

Step 4

Sew down the folds. Now fold the bandana together so the ugly sides are showing and sew the along the long edges (leaving the collar slip edges open).

Step 5

Flip it right side out.

Step 6

Embellish! I love adding fringe or ric rac.
